This season is set to be the most exciting yet for Chelsea FC Blenheim, with three teams in action, a state-of-the-art 3G pitch at their home ground, and a range of newly introduced technologies and facilities.
NEW TEAMS
This season, the Elite squad will play in the National Football Youth Premier League, the Academy squad will play in the National Football Youth Championship League and the Development squad will play in the Association of Colleges Premier League. Alongside these Leagues, Chelsea FC Blenheim also enter several cup competitions such as the ECFA, ESFA and Surrey Schools. Showcase games also feature.
NEW PITCH
The installation of a new 3G pitch at the football academy marks a significant upgrade in the training facilities, offering a state-of-the-art surface for year-round development. Unlike natural grass, the 3G artificial pitch is highly durable and weather-resistant, ensuring that sessions can continue even in adverse conditions. Its consistent surface enhances ball control and player movement, enabling more effective technical drills and tactical exercises. The pitch also reduces the risk of injuries, providing optimal shock absorption for players. With these advantages, the new 3G pitch will elevate the overall quality of training, helping players refine their skills and adapt to professional standards.
NEW TECHNOLOGY
Reflection is a key part of a player’s development at the Academy and VEO and GPS PlayerData technology regularly inform player training and development.
Academy students have access to a VEO camera and online editing platform, allowing each student to critically evaluate their performance on the pitch and informs their bespoke training programme. In small groups, students discuss technique and tactics and provide critical peer-peer advice that is not possible during live training or matches.
The recently introduced PlayerData GPS tracking software facilitates analysis sessions with each player. These sessions allow players to fine tune their tactics and further refine their matchplay. Regular analysis using these technologies empowers Academy students to take responsibility for their own development to maximise their potential.
NEW FACILITIES
The addition of new changing facilities and a dedicated physio suite at the football academy is a game-changer for player welfare and performance. The changing rooms provide an environment for athletes to prepare mentally and physically before training and matches, fostering team camaraderie. Meanwhile, the physio suite offers players immediate access to treatment and injury prevention services. This helps reduce recovery times, keep players in peak condition, and minimises the risk of long-term injuries. Together, these upgrades create a professional atmosphere, improving both the player experience and overall team performance.
We're looking forward to a successful season and putting our new additions to good use!
