NATIONAL FOOTBALL YOUTH LEAGUE TROPHY LAST 16

CHELSEA FC BLENHEIM 1 v 0 AFC SUDBURY

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: MATILDA

The academy side welcomed National Football Youth League leaders AFC Sudbury to Blenheim in what promised to be a great fixture.

After a great cup win last week the girls were eager to test themselves against a physical and clinical AFC Sudbury. Chelsea FC Blenheim started brightly and within ten minutes had hit the bar and sealed two further chances. AFC Sudbury managed some half chances in return, but it was Chelsea FC Blenheim in the ascendency.

The half time break did nothing to deter the momentum of Chelsea FC Blenheim who were not only playing great football but also matched the physicality of the visitors. With 75 minutes played, the pressure paid off, with the ball being moved well across the AFC Sudbury box and Abi slotting the ball home at the back post.

This proved to be the deciding moment as Chelsea FC Blenheim beat league leaders AFC

Sudbury; the narrow score line haltered Sudbury.
