NATIONAL FOOTBALL YOUTH LEAGUE TROPHY LAST 16

IPSWICH TOWN 0 v 2 CHELSEA FC BLENHEIM

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: MATILDA

The Chelsea FC Blenheim Academy team travelled to Ipswich hoping to book a place in the quarter final of the National Football Youth League Trophy.

After a long trip the team would have been forgiven for starting slowly but did the opposite and did it well. Chelsea FC Blenheim quickly dictated the rhythm of the game and moved the ball quickly and with confidence. This quick and precise football led to the opening goal from Mia, who buried a well constructed move into the bottom corner after just 8 minutes. 15 minutes later a beautiful delivery form Captain Matilda saw Erin rose highest and place a superb header over the Ipswich Town goalkeeper into the net.

With the score 2-0 at half time the second half was a carbon copy of the first, with Chelsea FC Blenheim exercising complete control. An excellent display took the side through to the quarter final of the National Football Youth League trophy for the first time.
