Blenheim Chelsea FC Academy 1 v 1 Procision Oxford

The Academy side welcomed Procision Oxford to Blenheim this week in a top of the table clash.Chelsea FC Blenheim Academy had prepared well for this and defended the direct ball very well in the opening exchanges. Neither team managed a meaningful shot on target until the half an hour mark, Amy W played through 1v1 against the Procision keeper. Her first touch took her just wide of the goal where she tried to cut the ball back to Jess, but this delay allowed the Procision defender was time to recover and intervene. In the closing minutes of the first half Procision created a few half chances of their own but Chelsea FC Blenheim goalkeeper Mia S did well onboth occasions to stop the visitors from taking the lead.Chelsea FC Blenheim Academy started the 2nd half with a more composed look to their game.Getting the ball down and moving it very well against a tough press from Procision. It was Procision who took the lead on the hour mark with an unstoppable strike into the top corner from 35+ yards. Chelsea FC Blenheim academy changed shape and pinned Procision back hoping to get that all important equaliser. After some confident play from Chelsea FC Blenheim academy building from the back, Bonnie found Amy W in the right hand channel who dug a cross out to the back post, Ines found some space but couldn’t quite connect with to bring the game level. After more good play from Chelsea FC Blenheim academy, Sophie wriggled past 2defenders and was the fouled by the third, penalty and the chance to draw level. Amy W took responsibility and finished emphatically to give Chelsea FC Blenheim the equaliser they very much deserved. The character, desire, resilience and hard work shown were exceptional from all of the ChelseaFC Blenheim Academy team and they ended with a point they fully deserved!
