Chelsea FC Blenheim 5 v St Joseph’s College 1


Having escaped a tricky group stage, Chelsea FC Blenheim took to the pitch in the ESFA Superleague last 16 for the fourth time, never having gone further than this stage.


Chelsea maintained composure and regrouped to showcase character. By continuing to stick to their style of play, moving the ball with purpose and intensity, Blenheim created an opening down the left side where Dior was able to travel inside the box and bring the game level. 1-1 and game on. From this point onwards, Chelsea dominated the game and took the lead of the match.Five minutes before the end of the first half, Dior had a strike from a distance which was spilled by the St Joseph's goalkeeper resulting in Amy reacting and finishing under the goalkeeper on the rebound.


In to the second half, Orla pulled off a key save within the first minute to keep the game at 3-1. Chelsea FC Blenheim managed the response from the visitors excellently and setting the tempo. In the 60th minute, Dior found space inside the box after a clever reverse pass from Amy and senta shot goal wards, her effort was saved but rebound found the back of the net via the St Joseph’sdefender to make the game 4-1. Blenheim continued to create chances and in the closing moments Avery sealed the game with agoal, producing an instant impact from the bench.


History was made as for the first time Chelsea FC Blenheim progress to the last 8 of the ESFA Super League.
